The DS 372 spinning cake winder is used for continuous removal of fibres from glass or basalt melt tanks (bushings). The machine is equipped with two winding spindles on which it winds spinning cakes. The threads are laid with a flyer moving linearly across the winding mandrel. Fibres are transferred from one mandrel to the other in the fully automatic swapping.

The extremely robust winder was designed for continuous operation in severely contaminated environments. Spin finish can be used without affecting the winding process. One to four spinning cakes can be wound simultaneously on one winding mandrel.
