Water filters for industrial applications are produced on Dietze+Schell precision winders. They find their use, among other places, in power plants or in the treatment of drinking water.
Water filters consist of hairy plastic threads. These fibres are wrapped around a plastic or metal core during filter production to produce a honeycomb structure with defined permeability. Technically speaking, this is a rewinding process. It is made special, however, because the receiving bobbin in filter production can be up to 200 centimetres long in some applications.
